In 2016, when we started our first year of Distance Education, we had no idea of the path that we would be on with both the school, the teachers, our children and our travels. We didn’t know that: 1. we would be facing a fourth year on the road 2. Essentially considered homeless, and yet we are happy little vegemite’s all the same.

Well, this year we are schooling the same, but with a huge difference.  A difference that we hope...

Liam is into his third year of Distance Education on the road, and all of it has been high school.  Thats right, he has completed year 7 and year 8 and is now doing year 9, while also travelling Australia and exploring and learning about this great country.

This year, Mia is in year 4, and it is her third year in Distance Education.  This year, we have opted for Mia to part-take in the full curriculum - so a little bit more work.

Mia also has the opportunity to join in Satellite classes every week - this is a great opportunity for Mia to do her school work with the other kids in year 4, and to enjoy a classroom environment - all without leaving the caravan.

Making the decision to Travel Australia, with two school aged children in tow, is not one that can be taken lightly, yet it is one that we are finding many families are doing. We left home, from the Hunter Valley in NSW on 27 January 2016. At the time of writing this article we have been on the road for 816 days.  We are either really crazy, or we really do like each other!  Even we are still trying to figure that out....
